Red as he appears in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen

Red is the main male protagonist of Pokemon Red/Blue and Pokemon Yellow and it's remakes, Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen. He is also the unofficial Final Boss in Pokemon Gold/Silver and their remakes Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver.

Pokemon Red/Blue/GreenEdit

Before you begin the game you are asked what your name is for simplicity sakes, you name your character Red. The game then asks you to name your rival, again for simplicity sakes, we'll name him Blue.

You start the game in your bedroom in Pallet Town, Kanto. You then wander around Pallet Town until you leave then Professor Oak comes out of nowhere and tells you that Pokemon are in the grass. He then takes you to his lab where you see Blue. Oak then tells you that you have 3 choices (Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander) the one you choose, your rival will choose it's opposite (I.e: Red picks Bulbasaur, Blue picks Charmander). As you are about to head out, Blue then asks you to battle him.

Pokemon YellowEdit

This game follows more closer to the anime.

Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal & Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilverEdit

Red is found on Mt. Silver. The only way to get to Mt. Silver is by getting the 8 Badges and beating the Elite Four in Johto, then repeating that in Kanto. When Gold/Kris/Lyra talks to him, Red will then challenge him/her. Red is the most powerful trainer in the game (Quite possibly the series in general), as he has 6 powerful Pokemon. In this game they are the following:

  • Pikachu: Level 81
  • Espeon: Level 73
  • Snorlax: Level 75
  • Venusaur: Level 77
  • Charizard: Level 77
  • Blastoise: Level 77

Red is found exactly the same way as in the originals, except he has more powerful Pokemon.

  • Pikachu: Level 88
  • Charizard: Level 84
  • Venusaur: Level 84
  • Blastoise: Level 84
  • Snorlax: Level 82
  • Lapras: Level 80
